Waterlow Road & Erskine Road Surfacing Works

Following concerns raised by the Parish Council, Cllr Diane Morton has obtained an update from Kent Highways regarding the condition of Waterlow Road and Erskine Road.

Waterlow Road

A full resurfacing scheme had been planned for last month, but this has been postponed as Southern Water are due to replace the water mains along the road. Carrying out resurfacing before these works would mean digging a trench through the new surface, so Kent Highways are awaiting a date for the mains replacement before rescheduling the resurfacing.

In the meantime, temporary works have been raised today to improve ride quality. Kent Highways have confirmed that, although the road surface is unsightly, there are currently no defects considered hazardous to the public.

Erskine Road

Major patching works are scheduled through the local highway maintenance contract during July or August, which should bring a significant improvement to the condition of the road.
